The air cannon used during NBCCs 2016 Pumpkin Fling event launches a pumpkin so fast it is difficult to see it leave the cannon. ASD-N's Edgertronic Slow Motion camera, generously provided by Brillant Labs, can be used to record events at a very high speed and played back at normal speed (30 frames per second) and that effect slows down the object in the video. In this video the camera was set to 900 fps (frames per second). This is 30 times slower than a normal video. Videos such as this allow for a variety of different types of analyses, from the speed of the pumpkin, its angle, and even a glimpse in to the workings of the cannon itself. Check out the other videos showing 2700 fps, 4500 fps and 6000 fps and see if you can find anything interesting happening.
