Today we added to our previous learning of making materials more stable but introducing the concept of fastners.  Students did an inquiry activity to see which fastners make straws the most stable.  From our discussion those concpets were used in planning their next structure.  Students began to plan the mateirals, fastners and design concepts needed, eventually they built small models of their designs to see if their plans worked.
