The Provincial Scientific Literacy assessments will be administered in grades 4, 6 and 8. While the best preparation is for students to actively do science and apply their skills throughout the year, it is also important to practice reading and answering the types of questions found on the assessment.

Please take the time to look over the attached documents. They outline the focused strands that will be assessed on the Scientific Literacy Assessment as well as give feedback on the areas of strength and need for improvement from the 2022-2023 assessment.

We are also very strongly recommending that your students experience the practice assessment on Vretta before attempting the actual assessment. The questions are simpler than the ones that they will see on the real assessment, but it gives an excellent idea of the format: Vretta Practice
