STEM Fest Makes a Successful Return in ASD-N
For the first time since 2019, ASD-N saw the successful return of an in-person STEM Fest event. STEM Fest 2023 was held at James M. Hill Memorial High School on Saturday, March 25th and proved to be a fantastic day with projects being registered from Grades 3-12, along with a student showcase, various STEM based activities, and featured displays from exhibitors.
In total there were 37 projects officially entered into STEM Fest with 68 students registered for the event. The Student Showcase saw another 15 students attend to highlight school-based initiatives such as Outdoor Learning Adventures, Hydroponics for the Community, Career Paths in the Game of Life and more.
A big thanks goes out to our wonderful judges for the day, teacher volunteers, and exhibitors and sponsors of our event including The Gaia Project, Brilliant Labs, Science East, APEGNB, FYI Doctors, Center of Excellence for Energy, and the Miramichi Salmon Association. Also, a special thanks to Michael Edwards from Science East for hosting his dynamic Science Show, allowing the judges time to deliberate on the projects.
