Spooky Science at Bonar Law

Posted: November 16, 2015

This initiative was under the direction of FN Science Lead Megan Gallagher. Grades 9 & 10 students from Bonar Law were dressed in costumes with Lab coats, safety goggles and Mad Scientist hair. They proceeded to lead the Grade 3 students through a series of 4 different Science activities at various locations throughout the school, a skit put on by Grade 9 English students, and a Pumpkin seed estimation wrap-up in the cafeteria. The elementary students from Rexton Elementary and Elsipogtog Schools were engaged and having so much fun learning Science, while the Bonar Law students took on the roles of teachers. The activities were cross-curricular and tied in everything from Science, Math, Literacy, Art, and Culinary Arts. Although the elementary students had an absolute blast, the experience for the Grade 9 & 10 students who were teaching was equally as impressive.
