Great day at the North Shore STEM Fest 2018!
This past Saturday we held our North Shore Regional STEM Fest at Terry Fox Elementary. Students from kindergarten to grade 12 came from the Bathurst, Jacquet River, Campbellton, and Dalhousie region to share their projects. We had 51 unique projects on display by 67 students. Ten teachers volunteered their Saturday to supervise students during a cardboard build activity. As well as 15 volunteer judges that came from CCNB, UNB, Glencore and Roy Consultants.
When the students were not in the gym they participated in a unique cardboard challenge with amazing results! Check back to this site during the last week of March to see pictures and the winners of the cardboard challenge event.
The medal winners of the STEM project competition are summarized below. The judges were very impressed by the work put forth by all participants and they would like to once again congratulate all students with their hard work. All winners in grades 6 – 12 qualify for provincials (for information on provincials, please refer to the information in this document: provincial_qualifiers_information_sheet_2018.pdf, note that the registration deadline is April 2nd for the event on April 11th.)
