Three Grade 10 students from Miramichi Valley High School combined to produce the top results from all high schools in New Brunswick on the recently held, prestigious Cayley Math Competition, sponsored by the University of Waterloo. Julia Bent, Alex Tozer, and Shafkat Ahmed received the highest scores out of the 10 students who took part from MVHS. With a maximum possible total of 140 points on the exam, Bent scored 125, Tozer 122, & Ahmed 115. Their combined total of 362 points is one of the highest scores every achieved by Miramichi Valley students and only the second time in the past 20 years that they received the highest results in the province.
The Anglophone North School District Numeracy Team would like to congratulate Julia, Alex, and Shafkat on this tremendous achievement!
