Miramichi River STEM Fest 2018 Medal Winners

Posted: March 27, 2018

Our second district STEM Fest was held in the Miramichi Area on Saturday March 24th, at James M. Hill Memorial High School.  There were over 100 projects and 150 students taking part in the event.  Not to mention 12 volunteer judges and 20 volunteer teachers and district staff.  Judges were very impressed with the quality of projects put forth by students from kindergarten to grade 12.  When participants were not presenting to judges, they were busy designing and building a cardboard arcade game.  Every student then had a chance to share and play everyone's game.  The quality of arcade games was top notch with some games winning awards!  A few pictures of the event are here: http://stemnorth.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/stemfest-2018-miramichi-region and more pictures of medal winners will be posted soon.

Congratulations to all participants!  Our Miramichi River STEM Fest medals are summarized bolow.  Note: Medal winners in grades 6 - 12 are eligible for priovincials (there are no provincials for lower grades).  An information sheet for qualifying is here:  provincial_qualifiers_information_sheet_2018.pdf
