On April 8th, 2024, parts of NB are set to observe one of the most powerful and awe-inspiring phenomena ever seen in nature. At approximately 4:35pm, for just over 3 min, day will turn to night. Crickets will come alive, birds will stop their song, the stars and planets will appear, the temperature will drop, and we will have a 360 degree 'sunset'. The moon and sun will appear as a black hole in the sky with silky, silver streams of the sun's atmosphere radiating out from behind the moon.

STEM Fest 2024 was a full day of outstanding student displays of inquiry learning, hands-on STEM experiences, a Science show, prizes, and of course, presentation of medals. Over 60 students were registered with their projects for judging and another 12 students were showcasing their work.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to experience activities from the ASD-N ICE Centre (Aviation), FYidoctors, Centres of Excellence, The Gaia Project, Science East, and Brilliant Labs.  Activities included:

Saturday February 24th 2024

Our Annual ASD-N STEM Fest is just under a month away! Last year we saw the successful return of an in-person event with 83 Grade 3-12 students showcasing their STEM learning! Students participated in judging, STEM-based activities, and featured displays from exhibitors. The day capped off with a magical (and loud!) Science Show and award presentations. 27 students were invited to Regionals in Fredericton, and two students travelled to Nationals in Alberta, BC!
